Donna Peckett has a keen interest in working with young children. She derives
a good deal of knowledge and pleasure from teaching dance and drama to hundreds
of preschoolers and elementary age children. She has 25 years of teaching
experience.
Through the program she developed, "Education Through
Movement," children
work together in small groups to explore learning through creative movement
and drama.
A former preschool teacher, Donna also teaches tap dance to students,
ages 8 to 80+. She is an experienced residency artist who has taught around
the U.S.
Donna is Producing Artistic Director of TAPIT/new
works, Inc. a Madison-based
professional arts organization and ensemble theater. She is a choreographer,
actor, dancer and devoted arts educator. She has twice received the Wisconsin
Arts Board's Choreographer's Fellowship for her work, and was honored by
the Wisconsin Dance Council for her contribution to dance in Wisconsin. She
has a B.A. degree in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her hobbies including gardening and cooking.
